Joan, Joanie had 5 sons. Ross jr, married to Lise (Larose) David, Patrick, Stephan married to Kelly (O’Neil) and James. Family was the most important thing in Joanie’s life, non more important the grand kids and great grand kids. Kerry, Ross III, Shane, Kele, Madison, Ryan, Drew, Travis, Shannon, Liam, Emma Kate and Amy plus great grandkids Owen, Teddie, Cassidy, Hailey, Faith, Nolen, Hallsie, Abigale, Zoie, Collins and Jaiden.
In the old Pinecrest neighborhood we grew up in, the back door was always open to anyone. Many a young person was taken in, fed and given advice. Some even stayed a week or two until they got settled; that was the kind of person Joan was. Always happy to have her boys and friends at home, make them a sandwich no matter what time. Her thought was if you’re going to get into trouble at least I know where you are.
She will be deeply missed by all the family and countless friends and others whose life she touched. Her strong faith helped her navigate through life’s challenges. If you knew Joan the last thing she wanted was for us to be sad but to have a party and we are.
Mass will take place Monday, October 25th at 11:00 am at St Georges Parish Church at 415 Piccadilly Ave.
A celebration of Joan’s life will take place at Moose McGuire’s at 3320 McCarthy Rd. between Hunt Club and Walkley Rd. from Noon till 4 pm. All Covid protocols will be followed. Please have proof of vaccination.
Please in lieu of flowers if you can find a way to donate to her favorite charity, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (www.crohnsandcolitisfoundation.org) that would be much appreciated a special thanks to the staff at St Patrick’s Home.
