Obituary of Daniel "Don" Stephen Brooks

Passed away peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Loving husband for 62 years of Heather (Patterson). Proud father of Mark (Sylvie) and Glen (Patricia). Grandfather of Chanel. Predeceased by his parents Clarence and Mary (MacGillivray). Will be fondly remembered by extended family and friends in Nova Scotia and throughout Canada.

Don was born and raised in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and studied at St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish. Upon graduation he moved to Ottawa where he embarked upon a long and distinguished career in the Public Service spent entirely with what was then Revenue Canada Taxation. Throughout his lifetime Don was a proud Nova Scotian and took great pleasure in his many good friendships, travel, reading, hockey and his beloved Expos but he was most proud of and received the greatest pleasure from his family.

The family would like to express its thanks to the staff of the Villa Marconi for the exemplary care and compassion shown to Daniel over the past three years.

Respecting his wishes, there will be no service. Private family inurnment will take place following cremation.
