Dear Richard.. I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother. What wonderful stories you recounted of her to us over the years. She came to life in them, as sure as if I knew her personally. I hope that your heavy heart if lifted and soothed by your memories of her. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Lynn Roseberry

I would have met Grandmaman close to 15 years ago. At the time, I was immersed in my studies at U of O, away from home and all who were important to me. It was no doubt a difficult time, but was made so much easier once I was welcomed into the family that Grandmaman led. She was always a delight and I will never forget the pride she had for her family.
She always had a way to bring humour to a situation without even intending to. She had this amazing talent of always knowing the gender of her great grandchildren before they were born (she was never wrong!). She also had no shame in calling you in the middle of the night to tell you about her dreams, or to ask if your expectant baby had been born yet.
In her final weeks of life, Charles and I enjoyed quizzing her about her loved ones and looking through important pictures with her and listening to the memories she had about each. She may have not recognized us during these most recent visits, but she surely hung on to distant memories of her family and this seemed to always bring a warm smile to her face.
We love you Grandmaman and you are greatly missed by not only Charles and I, but by Béatrice and Théo. Thank you for leaving us with so much love.

Memory of Liliane Rochefort (mother-in-law).
As most of you know Ray and I met at a very young age and being a very shy teenager, it was always a challenge for me to even visit the Rochefort house. People, friends and relatives always seemed to be coming and going. Lil and Peter welcomed everyone to their home and were always exceptional hosts. The events that stick out in my mind most were Christmas’s before any of us were married. I had never heard of “Le Réveillon de Noël” and was not aware of French traditions and celebrating Christmas after midnight on the 24th. Lil always prepared an amazing feast for these events – I experienced foods I had never even heard of like, tourtières, Tommy tuckers, sucre creme and a variety of other tasty treats. I have many memorable Le Réveillon de Noël in those early years – who can say today that those I celebrated with back all those years ago, are still my sister and brother-in-law’s today. When I think back on it now, Liliane worked a full time job, raised 4 children, kept a clean home and always made family celebrations memorable. She was a wonderful mother-in-law and an amazing Grandmama to my children – we will miss her.
