Obituary of Brenda Jean Laverty

Laverty, Brenda Jean

1947-2021

After a long, bravely fought battle with Cancer, Brenda Laverty, 74, passed away peacefully at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice on Thursday August 5th.

Predeceased by her loving parents Laurine (Doxtater) and James Laverty, her brother Jim, brother in-law Rick Irwin, and beloved dog Cassie. Survived by her best friend and sister Judi (Irwin), and her nieces Tracey (Albert Coulis) and Jennifer (Ralph Gethings).

Brenda greatly appreciated the love and support of her close family and friends as they helped her with appointments, meals, shopping trips and emotional support. Her family is very grateful to the staff and volunteers at the hospice for the incredibly caring attention Brenda received during her final days.

There will be a small graveside service at the Pinecrest Cemetery on Tuesday August 10th at 10:30 am. A celebration of life service will happen at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donatins can be made to the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice at 110 McCurdy drive in Kanata.
