We were sad to hear of Mr. Goto's passing and send our condolences to his family. You will miss him. Know that the Japan Auto business he had was the ultimate in auto servicing. When we moved to Ottawa in 1985, a friend recommended we take our Honda to Japan Auto for servicing. We never looked back and stayed with Mr. Goto to his retirement.. Mr. Goto was an honest, diligent, trustworthy, and proud individual, mechanic, and businessman. Such individuals are rare today. We are privileged to known him.

Dear Yasuko and family, Our families have know each other for so long. You both were so good and kind to our parents and we have fond memories of your kids when they were young. Can remember Yaichiro taking practice exams with our Mom to prepare him for certification tests, then our Dad and him chatting afterwards. We all, of course, used Japan Auto forever. I told Yaichiro that all I know about cars is where to put in the key, where to put in the gas and how to reach for my VISA card so he would always advise me on when to get a new car. The beautiful wooden flower box with the red heart that Yaichiro made for us when we got married 44 years ago is still gorgeous and in our family room. Wonderful that he enjoyed his retirement so and the love in the Goto family was very evident in today's service. Our sincerest condolences. Marlene and Gord and family

Yaichiro and Yasu Goto were very good friends to my parents when they were still alive and to my whole family, and they were always so kind and hospitable to us. Goto serviced my car for many years. He was disappointed that I was driving a North American vehicle and pleased when I finally made the switch to Toyota. Most of my memories of the children: Yasuhide, Aya and Yayoi, are of when they were smaller. At this funeral service I could see what splendid adults they have become, and so clearly devoted to their father.

My father Don Stewart unfortunately is not able to write this himself in his current health condition so I want to say a few things that he would want me to say.
We moved to Glen Cairn (Kanata) in 1973 and met the Gotos who lived 3 houses down from us. Soon after my sister Sue and Yasu became good friends. Shortly after that my parents (rip Mom) met Yaichiro and Yasuko and started a life long friendship. My Dad always took his automobiles to Japan Auto Service and I do as well to this day. Yaichiro was honest, reliable hard working and caring. I know first hand the wonderful friendship they had. The four of them with their morning breakfasts together plus so much more, and I was a part of their golf, which I called it as Japan vs Canada, Yaichiro and Yasu against my Dad and I. It wasn't much of a competition because of how good Yaichiro (Goto as my family called him) was but, those are memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Yaichiro and Yasuko for being the wonderful people you are and giving my parents a beautiful long friendship and a taste of the wonderful Japanese culture.
Don Stewart's son,
Eric

We are deeply sorry about the loss of Yaichiro. As you grieve, know that we are remembering him with warm thoughts. I recall the determined golfer who won the district B championship. It was a fine display of skill and sportmanship. Marg remembers golfing with the two of you, and the kindness and encouragement he always provided.
Yusuko, our condolences to you and your family. Goto was a fine man who made a remarkable impression on those he called friends. May he rest in peace. Bill McGarvie & Margaret Willison

To Mrs. Goto and your family.
We are saddened to hear of the passing of your husband. We took our Japanese cars to him for years. When we got a Jeep we asked if he fixes Jeeps. He replied with "What kind of car do you think Mr. Goto drive? What kind of car you think Mrs. Goto drive? JEEP.
His humour continued each visit. Trouble with the brakes - use the horn more. Noisy engine - turn up the radio. We were fortunate to have his great service and delightful friendship. His ties will also be remembered.
Go slowly. Be kind to yourselves. Keep his smile and laughter close. It will help you to heal.
Jennifer and Brian Bedwell.

Mr. Goto was a hardworking honest and humorous gentleman. Coming to Canada and building a successful business and raising beautiful and successful children with grandchildren. My childhood memories are with the Goto family - living down the street on Rothesay. I am thinking about the family at this time and my sincere prayers love to you.

My deepest sympathy on your loss. I first met Mr Goto in 1987 when a friend recommended Japan Auto Service to me and I took my cars to him until he retired. He was not only a talented mechanic, but honest, reliable, helpful and a truly decent human being. In a business that can be intimidating to some people, Mr Goto was friendly and approachable - to this day, he is my gold standard for mechanics.

We have great memories of Mr Goto. He was that rare combination of honesty, humour and skill, always trustworthy. Our condolences to the family, he was the best. Ed & Gail

I was very sad to hear of Mr. Goto's passing. He so impressed me as an excellent mechanic but also as an excellent human being.
I counted myself lucky to have him work on my car over many years and I was always met with honesty, humour, tact and , yes, even wisdom . He was a very memorable character in my life and I feel certain that he touched many more lives in a most positive way.

As a dear friend to our family there are many fond memories to be shared. Meeting Yaichiro in a little Japanese restaurant, meeting his wife once he had himself established, having visits at my parents house with their beautiful children but, the one thing Yaichiro introduced to me back in the 70’s was Sapporo Ichiban (soba) and to this day when ever I have it I fondly think of him and will forever more.
My heart felt condolences to Yasuko and the family on the loss of a wonderful man.
With much love,
Helen (Baldwin) Timm
