Obituary of Inez Pratt (nee Barrows)

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

2 Timothy 4:7

Mom passed away, peacefully, in her 98th year, early Thursday morning, June 24, 2021, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Clifton Pratt (1988) and Earle D. Adams (2008). Devoted, loving and loved mother of Susan Williams (Dave), Lynn Pratt (Margo), Debbie Pratt (Mark Steele), Laurie Pratt-Tremblay (Steeve Tremblay) and predeceased infant son, Leslie. Cherished grandma/great grandma to ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren.  Her life was dedicated to her family and her relationship with the Lord.

Mom grew up on a farm in Kars with her 6 siblings - survived by her sister Joyce Kayser Merrick and predeceased by her brothers, Cecil and Carmen, and by her sisters, Almeda, Matilda and Twylla. She married Cliff, and together they raised their family in North Gower.

She was a teacher for 32 years, at North Gower S.S.#7, Kars P.S., North Gower P.S., and North Gower Marlborough P.S., then continued to tutor at home for many years. She was an active member in the church and the community, participating in the UCW and leading the North Gower United Church junior choir and in her later years, attending the Met seniors, delivering Meals on Wheels, volunteering to drive seniors to medical appointments, and acting as a Welcome Ambassador in her retirement home. Her kindness warmed the hearts of all who knew her.

When she wasn’t making her famous pies and buns, she was busy sewing clothes for her family and friends. She loved singing, playing the piano, tending to her prize rose bushes and going for a maple walnut ice cream cone.

A private family funeral service was held on July 2, 2021. Those wishing to honour her life with a memorial donation, please consider donating to your local food bank.

"We love you and will carry your memory in our hearts forever and always."
