My heart goes out to Anoop and family. I was lucky enough to call Avinder my friend since the day he arrived as a pharmacy resident. He had a amazing smile, a great laugh and we would have the very best of debates! I have so many funny stories to remember him by that I feel lucky that he was a part of my life. I was saddened to hear of Avinder's passing earlier this week. We worked together in the pharmacy and the ICU at The Ottawa Hospital for many years and I always admired Avinder's professionalism, intelligence and kindness. He always placed the needs and interests of others ahead of himself and he could always be counted for for a warm smile and greeting. Avinder was a fan of most sports and could always be counted on for some insightful thoughts on the games that happened the previous day - it's no surprise that you could always find his name at or near the top of the Pharmacy NFL Football Pool!

The story of your life had so many more beautiful chapters to it but yet the book of your life had been abruptly closed too soon!!

I first met Avinder as a family medicine resident in 2002. He was so positive and encouraging and remained a friend since that time. Despite the long periods between our contact, Avinder's memory was remarkable and he was quick to recall the details of my life. I was so fortunate to have had a long conversation with Avinder this year and be reminded of his positivity and resiliency as he fought through illness. He spoke so highly of his family, especially Anoop. I'm so sad the world had lost someone so kind and so brilliant. May his soul reach the divinity it so deserves.
