Obituary of Thomas Fleck

On Tuesday, April 6 2021, Thomas Fleck, loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 93. He died peacefully at home.  Born in Avon Pennsylvania January 1, 1928 to Scottish immigrants who returned to Scotland following the Great Depression.  Thomas eventually made his way to Canada and provided a good life for his family. A naval architect, he started his apprenticeship in the shipyards of Scotland as a draftsman. Later he continued his education at Carleton University where he graduated with Distinction. He finished his marine career as the Acting Chief of the Ship Safety Pollution Section of the Canadian government before retiring at 63.  He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Evelyn, sons, Gary (Marie) and Alan (Ann), and grandchildren Andrew (Sarah), Siobhan, Evan, Mariah, Alexandra, Allie. Due to the pandemic a celebration of life will be held at a later date.   Donations in his name can be made to the charity of your choice.
