Obituary of Helen Brophy

On September 13th, 2020, Helen Brophy, at the age of 77, a devoted mother, grandmother and dear friend to all, passed away peacefully with her 2 daughters Linda and Colleen by her side. 

Although Helen spent the last few years of her life battling dementia, she will always be remembered by the way her smile lit up a room, her unconditional love for her family and friends as well as her love for music and sitting down playing her piano. 

Helen will be dearly missed by her 2 daughters, Linda Corrigan-Stevens (Paul), Colleen Barrie (Jeff), Loving granddaughters, Alyssa (Matthew McIntyre) and Julia Barrie as well as daughters father, Barrie Corrigan. 

Her family would like like to give an honourable mention to Jane Burt. Jane provided the utmost compassionate care on a daily basis to Helen for over six years, that always brightened her day. Her family would also like to thank all the second-floor staff at Garden Terrance, as well as her dear care givers, Tina, Wendy and Brenda. 

A Private Family Burial will take place in Helens hometown of Beachburg, Ontario on September 17th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
