There are no words to describe how devastated I am at hearing about Marian's passing. I only hope that you Jack along with Jamie, Sarah and the family will learn to accept with time this tremendous loss. May it serve as a tiny bit of consolation that through this donation in her memory other heart patients may benefit in the future. I am sure Marian would have wanted it that way. Sending my love to all of you.

To Jack and Lothian family: Thanks to The Citizen obituaries, it was with profound shock that I have learned of Marian passing. I met Marian while teaching at the Gatineau Elementary School on Maple Street in 1977. We quickly became good friends. Her unfailing support during my difficult years while my friends were dying of AIDS was most appreciated. After I left the teaching profession, we drifted apart. In the Fall of 2020, thanks to LinkedIn, Marian connected with me and from there we got caught up on each other’s lives over the 40 year period we had been out of touch. I was so looking forward to meeting her again. In fact, I was wondering why she had not responded to my last email. The answer was in today’s Citizen. How I will miss this wonderful woman with a huge heart and so committed to her family and her community. Although, I have never met the children, I am sure they must have a bit of Marian in them. We never know when our time is up. She left us much too soon. Godspeed Marian!

I send my deepest sympathies to Marian's family. My thoughts are with you all. Such a sad and unexpected loss of a great lady. Marian was such a talented, hardworking and passionate person. I got to know her as an educator and will always be grateful for the support she provided my husband Bill when he faced challenges in his career. Her advice was provided in a warm and professional manner and we knew she would be steadfast in her support. More recently I worked with her in the Grandmothers Advocacy Network where she quickly learned the issues, did the research and offered great strategic advice to the organization. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and colleagues.

My deepest condolences. So sorry for your loss. Marian was a wonderful colleague and friend. I will never forget her laugh and her eye roll. :-) I admired a tea cup of hers so much I came in one day to a beautiful one of my own that she had bought me. She had a heart of gold and was always so thoughtful of others. I'm very grateful for our many great chats.

To the Lothian Family,
My heartfelt condolences. As a colleague of Marian’s, I learned so much from her as an educator and leader. My fondest memory was our trip to Nashville. Laughter, wine and learning together made it one of my favourite adventures with Marian.
Know that she made a difference in the lives of her students, teachers and colleagues. She was one of the most intelligent people I was lucky enough to have in my life.
