Obituary of Denzil Maurice Carter
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Denzil’s passing, surrounded by family, on February 19, 2021 at the age of 88 years. He is survived by Lois, his wife and caring companion of 51 years. Father of Terry (Steve Milton), Julie (Chad Boode), and Jeffrey (Molly Kline). Predeceased by daughters Lori and Jennifer. Beloved Papa to Miles Boode. Uncle Denny to many nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by extended family and friends in Canada and abroad.
Born June 7, 1932, Denzil emigrated from South Molton (Devon, England) to Canada in 1957 where he settled in Ottawa. He was a master carpenter and joiner by trade. He had a passion for music and enjoyed a good English Premier League soccer match. Denzil was known for his good sense of humour and quick wit. His songs, storytelling and jokes will be greatly missed.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to St. Patrick’s Home and the core care team of Waterford House for their loving care and support over the past 8 years.
Given current public health restrictions, a private family inurnment will be held at the Pinecrest Cemetery following cremation.
