Dear Mary .... you may not remember me, but I lived down the street from you in Toronto.
Fred and I were in Kindergarten together, and all through our years at Earl Beatty, and then at Riverdale.
We were cub scouts together, and Scouts when old enough. I even spent time with Fred and your family and that lovely Beagle at the Cottage on Orr Lake.
I ran into Fred in Barrie, back in about '94, when I recognized his voice, sight unseen, in the Georgian Mall in Barrie.
My thoughts are with you and your family - your loss is shared with all of us who knew Fred.
