Obituary of Olympia Travlos (nee Diamantakos)
Passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday February 9, 2021 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of Dimitrios. Loving mother of Angela (Tony). Proud grandma “yiayia” of Dimitri, Maria, and Andreas. She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in Canada and Greece. Survived by her brother John (Athena). Predeceased by her parents, George and Panayiota, her brothers Petros and Kiriakos (Vasiliki) in Greece and her nephew George in Canada.
Olympia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and talented seamstress. We are thankful for her sacrifices, her generosity, her wise advice, and everything that she has done for her family. It is a great comfort to know that she is now at peace in the arms of the Lord and all those that she loved who passed before her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Alison Eyre and the staff at CCHC, the nursing team at SE Health, Amy Ryan at the LHIN and to the PSW’s from CBI for their compassionate care and support.
A private funeral service will be held at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church followed by a private interment at Pinecrest Cemetery. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future.
