We send fond condolences to Win, Cathy, Jennifer and families. Barb was a lovely lady who combined kind, gentle humour and a quick wit. With Win's help, she faced the challenges of Huntington's with grace and dignity. Our years of family friendship at Round Lake and Kanata have provided many warm memories to cherish and keep her close in our hearts. Rest in peace, Barb. We will miss you.
Love,
Bruce, Wendy, Kiersten, and Emily Engel

Barb’s calm and gentle nature, her loving heart and abundant common sense were boons to her family and her many friends. Beneath her self-effacing ways there was deep wisdom, startling intelligence and an encyclopedic knowledge: you wanted Barb on your Trivial Pursuit team!
How lucky we were to have that lovely lady in our lives: all the memories of shared family times at Round Lake, Ottawa and points beyond cannot be dimmed by age or infirmity.
It is a wonderful testimony to the love of a good man that Win took care of his beloved Barb to her last breath.
Not everyone knew that under the quiet demeanour there lived the soul of a hot chick who revelled in having a good time. Ron is waiting for you to pull him onto a dance floor up there Barb - you’re free again.

Win - I'm so sorry for your loss. You and Barb must have been a match made in heaven. I'm sure you will cherish your memories as your cousin Bob does his memories of Dianne. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

My sincere condolences Win and family. I will always treasure the memories of you and Barb on our adventures through the Rockies, up to Alaska, skiing, whale sightseeing, walking the beaches of Vancouver Island and at Round Lake and many bottles of wine.
