I can remember when I was little we stayed with Grandma while my dad started working in Gananoque, when Grandma helped us out during the transition. I also remember visiting her a few times in Florida, as well as various visits while in Ottawa. These are fond memories I will carry with me. I believe I inherited several good and practical traits from her, and she will be dearly missed.

Diane and I met “way back” in the 60’s and I had the pleasure of getting to know her mom. She was quite the lady, sharp as a tack and feisty as “all get out”. I soon noticed that she and Diane had a very close and special relationship far beyond that of a mother and daughter. Marcelle was a good mentor to all of her children and set good examples for them in her everyday life. Love and compassion for others were on the very of her list.
And then there was Bingo. “Wow”, had never seen anyone play as many as twelve cards at once ! A love of her life that she managed to enjoy through all her years. I don’t know for sure, but I heard that each Christmas, she found that Santa had almost filled her stocking with bingo dabbers.
Diane, Garry and Brent - please accept my condolences and heartfelt wishes at this difficult time. To Marcelle - you played your cards well. God bless.

Aunt Marcelle had such spunk and spirit. I remember staying at her home in Florida when I was 12 where she was our tour guide showing us the best places to visit. Had fond memories of that trip. She shared with me some interesting stories of her time looking after the Drysdale family including my dad when their parents had passed. She was kind enough to knit some baby clothes for our kids when they were born, and when they were older they had the chance to meet her on our visit to Ottawa.
Aunt Marcelle will be missed and always remembered.

Ann. I met Diane in 1985 working in the Government. We became fast friends, and I was included in many occasions with Marcelle over these many years. A fun memory was our car trips to Odgensburg for Marcelle to get craft supplies and for all of us to get groceries and enjoy the outing.
John became an important part of Diane’s life and added to my enrichment of getting together to go to bingo with Marcelle. One time I passed my bingo sheet to Marcelle to throw away. She saw immediately that I had won with four corners marked. She yelled bingo in time before they closed that session. I won some money.
Good wishes for comfort, Diane, on the passing of your Mother.

Marcelle
I met Marcelle 14 years ago. Diane said one night lets go to the Bingo and that is where it all began. At Bingo when she won a game and then called Bingo everyone heard her. When she lost and coming home in the card we heard all about it.
In 2009 I had great opportunity to take Marcelle and Diane to Las Vegas for her birthday and what a great week. Once she learned how to drive her scooter everybody was safe and didn't get run over. It was a pleasure seeing her happy in Las Vegas. No wins but it was a good time.
It is amazing after 98 years of life learning everything that Marcelle has done for her family and everyone around her you couldn't ask for anything else.
Now Marcelle is the Bingo Queen in heaven and looking down on us and will always be in our hearts.
Love John

I always loved seeing Marcelle at bingo and looked forward listening to her many interesting stories... a very happy lady that always had time to chat and to even take the time to make a few crafts to give my daughter whom she had never met. A lovely lady who I will miss. My condolences too her family.

I remember as a kid hearing my Mom talk to her on the phone and they would talk in french so I could never understand what they were saying. Well now she's with my Mom and the rest of their family in Heaven. We love you and miss you Aunt Marcelle! Love, Jackie & Chris

Marcelle was a spitfire! I remember visiting Gary (my Brother-in-Law), and sister June a number of years ago. Marcelle was considering purchasing a new car and we had a wonderful discussion about various options - it was so cute. I miss her returning from Bingos @ 1:30 a.m. and making muffins or warming her tea. My guest bedroom was across from the kitchen and so the rings and dings in the middle of the night were delightful :). Marcelle will be deeply missed by all family and friends to be sure. My heartfelt and sincere condolences go out to Gary, Diane, and Brent, and all family members. Rest in peace Marcelle, you can drive that new car on the driveway to heaven. Love Bev Dickinson xoxoxo
