Obituary of Ronald Villeneuve

Passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2020 surrounded by family after a brief fight with cancer at the age of 69 years.

 

Preceded in death by his parents Albert & Noella.

 

Ron leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years Huguette (nee Hebert), children Robert and Angele (Alan), step-grandson Zachary. 

 

Ron also leaves us before being able to meet his soon to be grandson he was so anxiously awaiting, with no doubt in our minds he will surround our new arrival with his love and protection. 

Ron had big dreams of spending time with him on the golf course.

Also survived by his sister Diane (Laurent) and his uncle Bud in Vancouver.

Sisters in-law Suzanne, Jackie (Simon) Brother in-law Ernie (Sharon) as well as many nieces and nephews; Chantal, Ghislain (Carole), Jean (Sue), Lynne (Phil), Marie-Claude (Joanne), Michelle, Nicole, Guillaume, Maude, Alexandre & Marieve.

Ron was a devoted caregiver/owner to many pets along the years and often said that they were his best buddies since they couldn’t talk back.  He’s now taking Kayla, Maggie and Nemo on walks again and will one day be reunited with his sidekicks Dory and Olive, they miss him dearly.

Ron had many passions in life but all that knew him know that his family always came first.  He was a loving, supporting and generous husband, father and father in-law.  The memories we now cherish are a testament to that.  We are so thankful for the time we had with him and even tho he has left us too soon he is a part of us and will always be with us in spirit.

Ron was so close to his parents, they were his world.  He was a remarkable son who treasured his time with them. 

The fishing trips with his dad and many afternoon bingos with his mom. 

Noella shared her love of gardening with him and he had his dad to thank for molding him into the caring man he was so well known to be.

Ronald worked as a driver with OCTranspo for over 40 years and until the day he left us he swore he avoided a squirrel when he ran over those garbage cans - I guess we’ll never really know…  He loved driving so much that even in retirement he worked for STS providing student transportation for 4 years and most recently was a shuttle driver at Mark’s Motors Audi.

During his spare time he loved to golf.  Ron was an avid golfer even tho he would never say so himself.  He was so proud of his Hole in One.  He left us having played 60 games this summer all while fighting cancer. There were days he had to skip a couple holes or didn’t play his best – but he spent as much time as possible out on the course where he could leave his worries behind.

Ron loved to travel and was scheduled to take Alaskan cruise but unfortunately Covid put a stop to that and robbed him of his dream vacation.  Besides golf and travel Ron loved music, movies and camping at Domaine du lac de la Cedriere.

As these difficult times are upon us our tears are often joined by laughter as friends and family share memories with us as we all grieve our loss. 

Ron was a joker with an infectious laugh and simply loved to make everyone around him smile.
