As a former Moose Javian, I recall Jean's name being mentioned often in family circles whenever my grandmother or aunts, Gertrude Boyling or Annie Wells were together. In my latter years, living in Ottawa as soloist with the RCMP Band I worked with Jack Cooke and Bernice Oak. We appreciate the gift of music that Jean brought to the world. Soon after my mother moved into the Glebe Centre in 2001 I met Jean when she came weekly to visit her friend, Jean who lived next door to my mother. She would invite us to join the two of them for special occasions in the Glebe "family room" and we'd often have little visits. Her kindness and gentle manner has left a lasting impression. A very special lady.
