I first met Bill back in the 1970"s during the crazy "Dome Arctic" days. We quickly became "birds of a feather" as he convinced me to join him on the IEC Technical Committee 18 concerned with electrical installations on ships and offshore units. During those years he was a valuable resource and mentor and quickly became a dear friend. Bill's advice was always tinged with that Irish humour as we made our way to IEC meeting after meeting across Europe. As Canada moved to the Polar 8 Icebreaker world Bill became my Client. His professionalism was second to none. His advice always spot on. He was so well respected in the world of marine electrical engineers both in Canada and Internationally. Bill, you, your work, your enthusiasm, your wit and your loyal friendship will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace dear friend.
