Obituary of Franco Musca

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Franco (Frank) Musca, peacefully in hospital, on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Anne (nee Bolton) for 49 years, loving father of Gina (late David), Chrissy, and Angie, and proud Nonno of Luca and Gabriella. Adored brother of Gino (Nadia) and Rosa (Ron de Carlo). Dear brother-in-law of Sue (late Harvey Jackson), Jim (late Elaine) (Donna Carr), Steve (Deanne), Mary, Mike (Sherry), and Dan (Linda) Bolton. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Maria (nee Fuso), brothers Antonio (Tony), Dionisio (Dino) and sister Laura. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Sannicola (Lecce) Italy, he immigrated to Canada with his family in 1956. He grew up in Centretown, Ottawa where he formed many lifelong friendships. He was a skilled and intuitive mechanic for over 60 years, working on everything from small engines to heavy equipment. Frank was well known for his ingenuity, and his endless generosity, always ready to lend a hand to his family, friends, and colleagues.

He was proud and passionate about his Italian culture. Frank loved to eat seafood fresh from the ocean, and fruits and vegetables from his own garden. He always enjoyed fishing, whether on a boat, a pier, or a frozen lake.

The family would like to thank the medical and support staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, the City of Ottawa paramedics, and the palliative team and caregivers who made it possible for Frank to remain at home.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, October 19 starting at 11:00am with words of remembrance starting at 12:00p.m.. A reception will follow from 12:30pm – 3:00pm where refreshments will be served. All will take place with Cole Funeral Services at Highland Park, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the QCH Foundation.
