
Obituary of Robert Wilfred Forbes
Robert Wilfred Forbes, 59, of Ottawa, Ontario passed away on August 30th, 2025 in his home surrounded by family.
A Ceremony will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Services on Friday, September 19th at 1:00pm. A reception will follow at the Tom Brown Arena on the same day at 4:00pm. The ceremony will be livestreamed online at this Link.
Robert was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia to Miriam and Wilfred Forbes on March 26th, 1966. He went on to study at Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and a Master of Business Administration. He worked at Export Development Canada in Ottawa for 32 years, where held many leadership positions and proudly established the “EDC Leaders in Mental Health” Group. He worked as a business consultant past retirement.
Robert enjoyed fishing on Thunder Cove Beach in Prince Edward Island, playing hockey in local leagues, learning about family history and spending quality time with his family and friends in both Ottawa, Halifax, and Prince Edward Island.
Robert is survived by his spouse Laurie Pilon (Ottawa), his children Charlie (Kadence) and Riley Forbes (Sarah) (Halifax), his parents Miriam and Wilfred Forbes (Dartmouth), and his siblings Kim Mayo (Dartmouth), Heather Grant (Iqaluit), and Carolyn Macintyre (Cape Breton).
