Obituary of Peter Sederis

Peter Sederis, beloved husband, loving father, proud grandfather and devoted friend, passed away peacefully at home at Timberwalk Retirement Residence on Monday August 18th, 2025. He was 95 years old.

Peter was born in Toronto and raised in Halifax. After graduating from Dalhousie University, he joined the Canadian military serving in the artillery, and then continued his career with the Federal Public Service. Upon his retirement he became increasingly involved with the community, donating his time and effort to several charities.

Peter was a very sociable person who was quick with a laugh, and enjoyed engaging with everyone he met. He took great pleasure in travelling, playing golf and bridge, and spending time with his family.

Peter will be greatly missed by his daughter Edith, his son David (Stacy), grandchildren Leland, Christopher, Andrew and Ella, sister Hermione "Nita", and many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth "Betty" Sederis of 58 years.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers at Timberwalk Retirement Residence and to the staff at the Kidney Clinic at the Riverside Hospital for the loving care and compassion they provided to Peter.

At Peter's request, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ottawa Mission, or the charity of your choice.
