Linda Black (nee Clarke)

Obituary of Linda Joyce Black (nee Clarke)

It is with the deepest sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Linda on August 5th, 2025 in her 78th year, following a prolonged illness. Cherished Wife and lifelong companion to Richard, devoted Mother of Adam (Sarah), Lauren (Pasquale Marano), adoring Grandmother to Chase, Bronson, Leah, Tate and Frankie.  Adored for her beauty and grace, Linda will also be sadly missed by her three younger brothers, Jim Clarke (Clara), Roger Clarke (Joanne) and Martin Clarke (Jane).

At a time when girls coming out of High School were told that Secretarial positions were for them, Linda ignored that advice and went on to obtain a Teaching Certificate and a degree at Carleton University. What followed was a long and rewarding career in Human Resources in the Federal Government at Revenue Canada.

Linda embraced life with energy and enthusiasm, enjoying, Bicycling, Skiing, Golf, while also enjoying travel and the outdoors. Upon retirement, Linda took up and attempted to master the game of Golf. A game which, despite its hardships, she thoroughly enjoyed playing with her family and friends.  Despite having a busy career, she was able to maintain the important aspects at home and her masterful culinary skills, wonderful Cheesecakes, baked goods and delicious home cooked meals will sorely be missed.

The family would like to express their thanks to those who helped Linda through her illness and are grateful for the exceptional care and compassion shown by the nursing staff at Ottawa Hospital Medical Oncology, Dr D. Jonkers, Dr S. Mercier, Dr E. M. Condon, Dr M. Abdelaal (Olga) and most of all Johnson of St Elizabeths who brightened up her day with his smile most Mondays.

Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. For those wishing to, a donation to Pancreatic Cancer Canada in Linda’s memory, would be appreciated
