Obituary of Pat Girimonte

It is with immense sorrow that we announce that Pat Girimonte, beloved spouse of Suzanne Girimonte (née Lavoie), passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, at the age of 77.

Pat was a devoted and loving father to Shawn Girimonte (Mireille), and Natalie Reilly (Rob).  He leaves behind 6 adoring grandchildren: Nathalie (Godin), Christopher, Geneviève, Alexander, Evelyn, and Nicholas who will all deeply miss their Nonno.

Pat was one of 8 siblings (Anna Trocino, Salvatore, Sarena DiPenta, Tony, Mario, Rosamaria Tegano and predeceased by John.  He was born in Italy and was part of a large family spread throughout Canada, Italy, Brazil, and the United States.  He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was a strong man who worked hard, was selfless, and always willing to help others.  He prided himself on the life he built with his wife and best friend of over 59 years, and nothing brought him greater joy than his family.

Family and friends are invited to visit the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Monday August 4, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to pay their respects.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday August 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the same location.  There will be no interment, his cremated ashes are returning home with his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute in his memory.
