
Obituary of Helen Marie Blanche Dianna Asselin
(née Forget)
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
Born to the late Edgar and Helen Forget (Hultquist).
She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Asselin for 48 years. She was predeceased by her brothers, Clifford and Richard Forget and her sister Shirley Gauthier. Helen was a loving mother to Lynn (Ben Levesque) and Suzanne (Marc Holness). Very proud grandmother of Tyler Levesque (Daryl) and Cassandra McLaurin (Brad) and Great-grandmother to Clark and Travis McLaurin.
She will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family and her friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the Pinecrest Solarium.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the medical professionals at the Family Health Team (Dr. Viner, Dr. Rifai, RN Linda Potvin and Dr. Voduc at the General Campus) for their care and guidance over the years. Many thanks also to go out to all the wonderful and dedicated people of the Stittsville Villa.
The family also wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of Saint-Vincent Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit. They will forever remember each person for their kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruyère Health Foundation in memory of Helen or The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Mom will live on in our hearts. She will be missed but never forgotten.
