Obituary of Lois Rosalind Parent

It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Rosalind Parent (Parnell) announced her passing on June 6th, 2025, at the age of 86.

Loving wife of the late Claude, and loving mother of Sharon and Bonnie.  Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey, Mikayla, and Melanie.  Beloved sister of Lorne (Nancy) and the late Elinor (the late Vern). Deeply missed by her nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Lois worked in the federal government for Health and Welfare for 37 years.  She enjoyed her job very much and found it very interesting working with aviation medicine. The Doctors that she worked for always had the highest praise for her. So much so that when her doctor retired and she retired as well he wanted her to work with him in his private practice. Lois loved to travel and she was lucky in her life to experience many beautiful trips around the world with Claude, her brother and sister-in-law, her daughters and many trips with her grandchildren as well.  Lois also enjoyed golf in her younger years and was somewhat natural at it. Lois loved to sing, she spent many hours with her grandson in the car listening to him sing and joining in.  She also loved to socialize, and her granddaughters and son-in-law had her over for many wonderful dinners.  She had a wonderful sense of humour sometimes sarcastic and witty, she enjoyed her life, she never complained and she was the rock in our family.  She loved to entertain in, as much as she enjoyed going for dinner or playing cards with friends. She will be greatly missed, she was the glue that held her family together.

Friends are invited to visit at the Pinecrest Remembrance Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 10:30am until time of the service in the chapel at 11:30am. Inurnment and reception to follow.
