Obituary of Ron Messett

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Messett, who peacefully left us on February 27, 2025. He was 80 years old. 

Born in Montreal, Ron was a loving and devoted father, husband, brother and friend to all.  He dedicated his life to his family and career as a diplomat with Global Affairs Canada. Ron had a passion for travel and adventure which began when he joined the Air Force at 17 years old.  He was known for his wisdom, curiosity, kindness, sense of humour and story telling. He loved spending quality time with his family and his partner, Audrey Gonsalves. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan (2014), and is survived by his brother Gerald Messett, daughter Karen Messett, and granddaughter, Kenzie Shaw.

A life well-lived, he will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
