Shi Yam Pang

Obituary of Shi Yam Pang

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shi-Yam Pang, age 85, on Feb 15, 2025. Born in China in the 30’s, Shi-Yam moved to Hong Kong when he was a child and immigrated to Canada in 1996, seeking a better life for himself and his family. He was a man of immense strength, working tirelessly throughout his life to build a foundation for those he loved. A proud and hard working immigrant, he dedicated himself to providing for his family, often sacrificing comforts and luxuries to ensure their well-being.

Throughout his younger years, Shi-Yam was a devoted husband, father, and provider, shaping his family with the values of work ethics, humility, and resilience. He and his beloved wife, Fung-Yin, shared many years of love and partnership until her passing a few years ago. Their bond, built on affection and mutual respect, remained the foundation of his life. Though he lived frugally, his love for his family was never in short supply.

In his later years, Shi-Yam faced the challenges of dementia, which slowly took away his memories and recognition. However, even in the face of this illness, his gentle nature and quiet strength remained. His passing, though sudden, was without pain, a comfort to his family during this difficult time.

Shi-Yam is survived by his two sons Andy and Keith, daughters-in-law Fiona and Elsie, and four grandchildren Ethan, Kaden, Allison and Jonathan. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his quiet wisdom, and the sacrifices he made to ensure the success and happiness of those around him. May he rest in peace.
