Obituary of Elsie Margaret Debenham

 

Born in Canso, Nova Scotia, Margaret passed away in hospital on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Daughter of the late Peter and Miriam Bishop, she was predeceased by her husband "Arch"; her brothers George and Eric Bishop, and her sisters Joyce Stanford and Shirley Decaire. She is survived by her son David, her brother Donald Bishop, her sister, Marie Bishop-Leblanc, and her "siblings-in-law", Evelyn Bishop (George), Lorne and George Debenham, Jean Pady (Neil), and Margaret Quesenbury. Margaret was an avid supporter of her wide circle of friends and her extended family, while always having an inexhaustible amount of time and affection for Arch and David. Margaret cherished her friendships fostered in Moncton while she was growing up, the armed forces while Arch was a pilot in the RCAF, and in Ottawa, where the family settled.    She was a proud spousal member of the RCAF Officers Mess and the Sabre Pilot Assn of the Air Divisions ('SPAADS').  She was an avid skier, golfer, curler, and most of all, dancer.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
