Obituary of Claudia Mary Pansy Sullivan
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Claudia Sullivan, beloved wife of Maurice Sullivan and cherished daughter of Paul and Bernadette (Beauchamp) Ranger. Predeceased by brothers Vincent, Willard, Andrew, and René Ranger, and sisters Edith Ferrigan, Martina Payette, Marion Callaghan, and Vivian Clarke. Claudia was a caring aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
A beautiful and elegant woman, Claudia was a path setter. In earlier life she was a Sister of St. Joseph in the Pembroke diocese for 29 years. She was a gifted and inspiring teacher. She also enjoyed parties and was a super entertainer. She hosted social gatherings, loved the invigorating discussions and provided delightful
dinners. She was loyal to her friends and she deeply loved her Thai family.
Intelligent, insightful, and enlightened, Claudia was first in her family to earn a university degree graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Ottawa. She remained a lifelong lover of literature and poetry.
Claudia was a talented acrylic and oil painter. She created many beautiful paintings that have graced her and Maurice’s homes over the years.
August 13th is Claudia and Maurice's 50th wedding anniversary. Their life together is a true love story—a meeting of minds and souls.
In recent years Claudia endured great illness--always with innate grace and dignity. In her final weeks we are greatly indebted to her niece Claudia Clarke, her close friends Marilyn Conroy, Norah McMahon, Mary Beth Nolan, and Lamai Silarack who sat by her bedside faithfully to the end.
Claudia was an incredibly kind and generous person. She will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Claudia’s life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, 1:00PM at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, ON.
