Obituary of Lynda Joy O'Grady

It is with great sadness that the family of Lynda O’Grady (nee Hall) announces her passing on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the age of 82.

 

Lynda, wife of the late Bert O’Grady, passed away following a battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Mom to Erin (Alex Overwijk) of Ottawa, Heather (Derek Cotton) of Ottawa, and James O’Grady of Richmond, Ontario.

 

Adored and proud Nana to Grady Overwijk, Finley Cotton, Cole Overwijk, and Miller Cotton. Daughter to the late Wallace and Grace Hall of Edwards, Ontario. Sister to the late Don Hall (late Elaine Fraser) of Edwards, the late Gordon Hall (Sandra Colbran) of Richmond, Melba Varty (Exton) of Ottawa, Diane Wade (late Dave) of Russell, and Bruce Hall (Linda Boyd) of Edwards.

 

Lynda graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. In her retirement, she enjoyed learning the fiddle and entertaining at retirement homes with the Vintage Fiddlers where she met many treasured friends who shared her love for music.

She will be deeply missed.

 

Lynda’s family will celebrate her life and say their goodbyes at a private family gathering.

 

A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus (5 East, Oncology and Hematology).
