Obituary of Gerald Victor Seed
We are saddened to announce the passing of Gerry Seed, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 4, 2026, at the age of 94.
Gerry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeanne (Nadon), and by his children Doug and Gail. He is survived by his children Gary (Sharon), Tom (Mirella), Alec (Christine), Bill, and Colleen (Peter Hache), as well as 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Gerry, along with brothers Ray, Gene, and Roger, grew up in Westboro, where their parents Bill and Lorette owned and operated the Westboro Bowling Alley, which became the backdrop for countless stories, friendships, and memorable events throughout the years.
Gerry’s enthusiasm for sports extended beyond the confines of the bowling alley, becoming an accomplished softball pitcher and snooker player. He later went on to coach softball in Manordale for decades, notably women’s and youth teams, developing skills and friendships that transcended the ball diamond.
He was an integral part in the formation and expansion of Broken Cue poolrooms across Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia, hosting dozens of tournaments, including the Canadian snooker championship in 1980.
Gerry had a wonderful singing voice, and was a frequent member of the Catholic and Anglican church choirs he attended for more than 60 years, as well as the Nepean Choir. He sang at weddings and funerals over the years, and would often visit seniors’ homes, where he gladly led groups in song and shared his love of music with others.
The family will hold a private service to commemorate Gerry’s life in the coming weeks.
