Donna Scott

Obituary of Donna Scott

Donna Louise Scott (née Brown) passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, at the Almonte Country Haven Nursing Home, at the age of 85.

Born on March 11, 1941, in Brockville, Ontario, Donna was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Donna had a fun-loving spirit and an infectious sense of humour. She spent much of her childhood enjoying the St. Lawrence River—a passion that stayed with her throughout her life. Remarkably, she swam across the river not once, but twice: first at the age of 14, and again 50 years later at 64.

Donna is lovingly remembered by her son Craig (Jodi); daughter Leslie (Peter); grandchildren Nicole (Mike), Matthew (Payton), Brooke (Ben), Hailey (Roberto), CJ (Cait), and Jenna (Corbin); eight great-grandchildren; sister Beverley (late Bill); brother John (Lee); and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Sarah Elizabeth Brown (née Byers); husband Elwood Scott; sister Elizabeth Nuttall; and the father of her children, David Bowman (survived by his wife, Diane).

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Almonte Country Haven for the compassionate and dedicated care they provided to Donna over the past fourteen months.

In keeping with Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

In memory of Donna, donations to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County would be appreciated by the family.
