Obituary of Claudette Gionet (née Ladouceur)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Claudette Gionet, who left us peacefully at the age of 82.
Claudette was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and talented painter. For 60 beautiful years, she shared a life filled with love and partnership with her beloved husband, Larry Gionet. Their marriage was a true testament to enduring love, friendship, and commitment.
She expressed her spirit and creativity through painting, a passion that brought color and beauty not only to her canvases but to the lives of all who knew her. Claudette’s gentle nature, thoughtful heart, and appreciation for life were reflected in every brushstroke and in every interaction with family and friends.
Claudette was predeceased by her cherished son, Todd Gionet, and her brother Gilbert Ladouceur. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Larry, her daughter-in-law, Valerie Dawson, and her two grandchildren, Olivia and David Gionet, who brought her endless pride and joy.
She also leaves behind her siblings Liette Hey (Moe, deceased), Rosemary Ladouceur (sister in-law), Margaret Dubeau (Guy), Judy Keon (Spencer, deceased), and Daniel Ladouceur (Anne), as well as several nieces and nephews. Claudette was the beloved daughter of Lionel Ladouceur and Leonida Heroux, both of whom predeceased her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. André Gauthier for his dedicated care.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road on Saturday, June 20th, 2026 at 11am with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in memory of Claudette.
Claudette’s warmth, quiet strength, kindness, and artistic legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
