Obituary of Rossana Bucciarelli
Rossana Bucciarelli (nee Martella)
November 28, 1960 – February 19, 2026
There are no words that can truly capture the loss we feel in sharing that our beautiful Rossana passed away on February 19, 2026, after a courageously fought battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma). Rossana was not just part of the family - she was the center of it, and she will truly be missed.
Her parents, Rita (Cassandra) and the late Gabriele Martella instilled in Rossana and her siblings Pasqualina “Tina” (Mario Antonio “Nino” Borrello) and Ilario (Elisabetta “Lisa”) the importance of loyalty, devotion to family and the ethics of hard work.
Rossana being the first born took her family responsibilities to heart ensuring the next generation, her beloved nephews Joseph Borrello (Julianne) and Gabriele always knew how deeply they were loved. She celebrated them, encouraged them and reminded them often that “we are the best”. Those weren’t just words – it was her way of building them up and wrapping them in confidence and pride.
She lovingly cared for her mother-in-Law, Concetta (Filoso), beloved wife of the late Angelo Bucciarelli, making sure she was always well looked after. “Nonna Connie” never missed an opportunity to sing Rossana’s praises to anyone who would stop by for coffee – proudly sharing how fortunate she was to have her as a daughter-in-law.
Her greatest joy – her greatest pride was her family. Together for over 50 years, she and her life partner Juan Carlos (Juan, Juanito, Smooch… just a few of the many names she had for him) built a life on love, respect and understanding. She was so proud of her children and their partners, Adriana (Justin Clermont) and Angelo (Selena DiNardo), not just for what they accomplished but for who they have become; independent, strong and caring individuals with respect for others and a true sense of family. She carried their successes as if they were her own. But her truly proudest moment came at the news of being a Nonna. Her heart overflowed with love and joy at the arrival of her three grandsons Romeo, Mattia and Rio.
Rossana didn’t just walk into a room she filled it. She lived with her shoes by the door and her heart already halfway to the next adventure. “Where are we going”? was never a question – it was an invitation. If there was a trip to plan, she was ready. If there was music playing, she was dancing. Her home was her masterpiece. The door was always open. The stove was always ready. The table was never set for just the number expected - there was always room for one/several more. No one left without having a delicious meal. She had a gift for making everyone feel like family — not by obligation, but by love.
Rossana’s life was made of laughter, dancing, last minute packing, family gatherings and fierce, unwavering love. Though her chair may be empty, her presence is everywhere – in every shared meal, every family gathering, every dance song. She loved deeply, she lived fully and she will be missed beyond words.
Forever, a daughter, sister, wife, mom and Nonna.
A very special thank you to Dr. Claudia Hubbes and the following dedicated PSWs Yilma, Saheed, Oyimafu, Naima, Jeanne, Suki and Maya for their outstanding compassion, care and support in seeing us through such a very difficult time.
