Obituary of Punam Bhargava

Punam Bhargava, 64 years, of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away on February 5th, 2026, at peace and surrounded by family.

Punam was born in Bombay, India to Suresh and Prema Bhargava on June 15, 1961. She went to high school at John Rennie HS in Pointe-Claire, QC  and went on to earn a degree in Computer Science from Concordia University. She married her soulmate and life partner, Kelly Peter Sjöberg on April 10, 1993 in Montreal, QC and they were blessed with a son and daughter. Punam worked as Head Web Tech for the web design company she founded, Techwiz, for 25 years. She was a lifelong vegetarian, avid trekkie and known defensive driver who enjoyed spending time with her family, bird watching, tai-chi, and exploring spirituality.

Punam is survived by her spouse, Kelly Peter Sjöberg, her son Adrian Sjöberg, her daughter Anika Sjöberg, her mother, Prema Bhargava, her brother, Sharad Bhargava, nephew Shiv Bhargava and niece Shreya Bhargava. She is preceded in death by her father, Suresh Bhargava.

Funeral Service will be held at Cole Funeral Services - Pinecrest, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K2C 3H9 on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 10:30am, with reception to follow at 12:00pm on location. Food and refreshments will be served.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Canada, 4211 Yonge Street, Suite 316, Toronto, ON M2P 2A9. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Bruyère Health Saint-Vincent Hospital and the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their kindness and care.
