In Sympathy. To me as an observer, often it looked that Kirk, like a missing puzzle piece that makes the picture complete, that Kirk was the active participant that made events/activities successful in the moment and going forward.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Kirk’s passing. I remember Kirk as a proud Nova Scotian, and a great skipper! Women’s Races on Phoenix were always special - we are grateful to Kirk for having shared his sailing skills and experience with us.
Yannis joins me in sending our heartfelt condolences to the family, Flora

Dear Sheila, Kirsten and Karen:
I will never forget the kindness and experience Kirk shared with me over the years at BYC...not only as the Foundation chair, but also as an avid sailor who introduced me to The Frostbite Race!. It couldn't have been colder in 2017, and while we never made it out, we giggled our way through the day with another new sailor and his new boat! It was a joyous day, a fond memory and a time I will always treasure. Kirk was a kind and generous soul, a fun man with a great sense of humor and life, and a very special person. My sincere condolences to you all.

Kirk was a true gentleman, and I’ll miss him.
We met when I joined Britannia in 2008. Ever ready to share his knowledge and support new sailors, Kirk was a speaker at our inaugural “Women and Wind” spring event. When his topic Up River Racing Strategy was announced we were told the men of the club would storm the hall! When I left to sail the Caribbean in 2014 he would send me little notes of interest and encouragement. Over the years, any general plea I sent asking for donations to help friends with hurricane and volcano relief, as well as to support my own passion of teaching Caribbean kids to swim was always met with a sweet gift.
I understand he was ready to sail toward the horizon, but I’ll miss him. Love and support to his family and friends.

Ava and I are saddened by Kirk’s passing. The last of the formidable Robertson siblings that we knew and loved so much. May your memories guide you at this time and may you find comfort knowing Kirk’s earthly battles have come to an end.

I'll greatly miss Kirk whether it be in racing memories aboard or against Phoenix, discussing how best to run a regatta course, or considering which rules applied to the protest about that mark rounding. The sailing community will have a big missing space and I'm sure that you as his family will have a big missing space too. Let's all remember the good times to help us through the hard times.
