Obituary of Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Doxtater

Elizabeth Ann Doxtater (nee Thatcher)

December 31, 1951 - December 8, 2025

Elizabeth passed away peacefully and on her own terms.  Betty, as she was known by most, was predeceased by her adoptive parents, Phyllis and Reg Thatcher and her birth mother, Muriel Mills. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Michael Doxtater (2014).  She leaves to mourn her sister, Colleen Thatcher and many cousins in the Thatcher, Bray, and Abbott families. She will be deeply missed by her sister-in-law Diane Switzer as well as her nephews Peter (Andrea) and Adam ( Wang Yi Jia) Switzer and their families.  Betty reconnected with her birth family in 2018 and is much loved and mourned by her uncle Ron Mills and siblings, Michael, Julia and Margo and a multitude of cousins and their children.  

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cole Funeral Services and a cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.

Over the years, Betty loved her furry friends, including her most recent Dachshunds, Massena, Maple and Maggie. Betty would love any donations in support of animal welfare.
