Obituary of Brian Latour
Brian Ellis Latour, age 89, died peacefully on December 7, 2025. Brian was born on March 4, 1936 in Ottawa and was the only child of Laura Latour (Fetterly) and Ellis Latour.
Brian spent much of his working years at Crane Supply as the credit manager. After many years he felt the pull of entrepreneurship. He started a chain of ladies lingerie shops called Naughty Lady, with several locations in Ottawa and Northern Ontario.
During this time, he also delved into the property rental and renovating business. Brian enjoyed the physical aspects of renovating and took pride in renting well appointed apartments.
Brian also lived in Constance Bay for many years, being one of the first year round residents of the Bay. It was during this time he developed many long term friendships, where he enjoyed snowmobiling and boating. He later purchased a lake front property in Maniwaki where he enjoyed 4-wheeling, fishing and spending quiet time with Greta.
In later years, Brian was an avid reader of the Thursday flyers. If there was a deal to be had, he wasn’t going to miss it!
Brian was pre-deceased by his partner, Greta Rice in 2009. He will be greatly missed by Stephen Hipkins, his life-long friend and surrogate son, and Kim Hipkins. Brian was family in every sense of the word.
Stephen and Kim would like to extend sincere thanks to the West Carleton Clinic, Dr. Copley and the Paramedic team for the exemplary care given to Brian in his final years. A celebration of life will follow at a later date in the new year.
